A Cool Idea to Prevent Frozen Water Pipes: Try ICE-LOC^®

Few home repair problems are as aggravating as frozen water pipes. When this tragedy happens it's in the worst of winter conditions such as the prolonged frigid cold spell we are now under. If you want to be protected from frozen water pipes then there are several easy things you can do and if you have a frozen pipe, there are repair techniques you should know. But there is actually a cool (no pun intended) product that can also help prevent frozen pipes and give you some much needed protection. It's called ICE-LOC^®, a great new product that helps prevent water pipes from rupturing when they freeze. As I explain in the tutorial, water expands when it freezes and the pressure exerted by the expanding ice is what causes the pipe to burst. Ice-Loc® is a special foam tube that compresses when ice expands, creating space in the pipe to receive the new water volume, thereby helping to protect the pipe from bursting.
