I'm showing this diagram because it helps clarify the components of the filter and how they come together. The filter media is pleated in an accordion-type manner and is stretched across the housing, fastened at the top and bottom.
In order to maintain a consistent shape and spacing to the filter media pleats, AprilAire uses multiple plastic pleat spacers. Once these are installed, the filter takes on a consistent shape.
