PROBLEM: Unit Blows Fuses or Pops Circuit Breaker

PROBLEM: Unit Blows Fuses or Pops Circuit Breaker

Possible Causes:
Inadequately sized circuit (amps).

Possible Solutions:

  • Most window air conditioners require 120 volts and can run off a 15 amp circuit. However some larger window units may require a dedicated circuit and will blow a circuit if it shares its circuit with load from another device or appliance operated at the same time.
  • Run a dedicated 20 amp circuit for the window air conditioner.
