Definition:
The workhorse of the modern kitchen, the Garbage Disposal is a kitchen appliance used to grind and virtually liquefy waste food before allowing the food to flow through the waste drains into the sewage system. The disposal unit is located under the sink and is connected to the waste line and may also be connected to the dishwasher.

Typically, garbage disposals should not be used with Septic Systems unless specially designed for such use.

For a detailed visual overview of the garbage disposal
