Clamping Plier

A clamping or locking plier is another handy home repair tool. A common brand is Vice Grip but Sears Craftsman and many other companies make them. Today, they come in an assortment of handy jaw designs. You can get needle nose or large jaw or smooth jaw and many other plier design options. The concept is the same in all of them however. You loosely close the jaw down over what you are clamping and then with pressure, you close the handle to lock the jaws down and clamp the item. To release, you release a lever that is nestled in the handle, and the pliers will pop open.
