Reinforce Hinge Joints
The hinge joint also needs to be reinforced from the back side as follows.
  • Rip a 1/2" piece of the 3/8" wide tape.
  • Split the tape in the middle about 3/4 of the way through but do not rip it in half!
  • Tape the temple ear piece hinge joint by sliding the temple wire into the slit and tautly taping this connection.
  • This taping action locks the hooked end over the wire frame and prevents it from coming loose.
  • Repeat for other side.
  • NOTE: The hinge connection has limited range of motion and is not intended to function as a full hinged connection.
