Lawn Mowing Tips Using a Mulching Mower (Part 2 of 2)

  • Time your mowing frequency so that you're cutting less than 1" of the grass blade, preferably 1/2" to 3/4". The shorter blade cut again allows faster decomposition of the cutting.
  • Keep your mulching mower blade sharp. A sharp blade is essential for proper tool performance.
  • Never mow the grass when it is wet or the mulching process of the mower will not work and you just end up with a clumpy mess.
  • Of course, with a mulching mower, leave the finely cut grass clippings on the lawn.
  • Don't forget the iced tea!
