Role of the Pleat Spacers
The filter should now be fastened top and bottom in the housing, however the pleats will appear irregularly spaced. AprilAire uses multiple "combs" or pleat spacers to make the filter take on a consistent shape.
Installation of the pleat spacers can seem a bit tricky and is described in the following section.
